UX Writing for Troubleshooting Flow

 

The Challenge

I undertook this project to help a colleague struggling to craft the microcopy for his product’s troubleshooting flow. We identified a need to revise the text to implement some basic best UX writing practices.

The Solution

Leverage the textual instructions to clean up some grammatical and agreement issues, soften the experience (especially important as users can get defensive when it comes to ‘blame’ of the product not working as intended), and make the interaction more clear and conversational. This will enhance the user's experience and help them feel supported in troubleshooting any issues they encounter with the product.
